Wow! What a great turn out for the 2009 Veterans Day parade held on November 7. The weather was perfect for the citizens of Lenoir County to line Heritage Street and pay tribute to the numerous veterans who completed the March of Honor. Col. Adele Hodges, past commander of Camp LeJeune, now at the Pentagon, was the Grand Marshall and Key speaker at the Veterans Day Ceremony in Pearson Park. The Salute Tribute Show on Saturday night finished the day in proper form. Thanks to all of the organizers and participants for this wonderful reminder of the American Spirit.
